Starburst - AGN connection conference(Oct 27 to Oct 31, 2008, Shanghai)

Announcement of the starburst - AGN connection conference
Oct 27 to Oct 31, 2008, Shanghai
Starburst and AGN, which are among the most active extragalactic phenomena,
have been studied independently for many years. Recent observations reveal
that many galaxies exhibit both AGN and starburst features, which naturally
requires astrophysicists to investigate the physical connection between them.
The rapid development of multi-wavelength observations during the last
decade have provided considerable new information and many theoretical
studies have produced new major results, which allow us to understand more
deeply the physics inside these two phenomena. The goal of this conference is
to review the past progress, to present new results, to plan future work, and to
establish collaborations between people both observationally and theoretically.
The conference will be held at Shanghai Normal University from Oct 27 to Oct
31, 2008, which has a very pleasant campus located southwest of the city. The
deadline for registration is July 30, 2008.
